I was sent a £10 Teso voucher so I could purchase ingredients to make a delicious and healthy beef or lamb dish to share with my family.
I chose beef Lasagne as it’s a firm family favourite of ours. Beef is naturally rich in protein and a great source of iron.
Here’s our basic lasagne recipe with a few extras thrown in to make it a little different:
INGREDIENTS
- 500g British lean minced beef
- Carrots
- One onion
- Cup of mushrooms
- Frylight
- 2 tins of chopped tomatoes
- Oregano
- Pinch of nutmeg, salt and pepper
- Mozzarella
- Chorizo (optional)
- Jar of white sauce
- Parmesan
RECIPE
Fry the onions and carrots, then brown the beef. Flavour with herbs then add the chopped tomatoes. Bring to boil then simmer after adding mushrooms.
Put half of the meat sauce into an ovenproof dish. Place mozzarella, chorizo and lasagne sheet on top then repeat.
Finish with white sauce and parmesan cheese. Place in the oven for around 30 minutes at around 190 temperature.
Serve with your favourite vegetables or salad and of course some garlic bread!
I had a happy little helper when I was making my lasagne. My little girl wanted to help chop and stir, making cooking much more fun.
This dish is so easy to cook, that’s one of the reasons why it’s a favourite of ours. Did you know that Beef also provides essential vitamins and minerals that support good health and well-being, which is great news when feeding my family.
Even my fussy 6 year old loves this dish, making me one happy mummy!

I don’t often eat beef but I’ve made lasagne with other types of meat and veggie ones too which always go down well in our family. My boys do love a good burger when we eat out, though … note use of word “good”. There are plenty of burgers they won’t eat!

My eldest loves lasagne, but the other 2 not so much. So I have tended not to bother making it, Saying that, My other daughter had some at her friends house and now has decided she does like it. So, I might have another try,

We don’t really eat lamb so beef would have been my choice too. Lasagne is such an easy dish to put together.
