What’s On This Half Term In Oldham and Tameside

Half term already I hear your cry?

There’s loads going on this October half term to keep the kids entertained in and around Oldham, Tameside and Greater Manchester.

I have also put together a list of places where you and your family can pick your own pumpkin in or around the Greater Manchester area. Check out the MASSIVE list of Halloween activities going on this month, many during half term!

Holiday Fun At Gallery Oldham

Free family activities take place during all school holidays. Activities run from 1 – 4pm each day. Face painting and craft activities at each session.

Most suitable for ages 4–10 years.

Children must be accompanied by an adult for all family activities.

All holiday activities are free with face painting for just £2.

Autumn Half-term: Mon 29, Tue 30 and Wed 31 October. Free – no need to book, just drop-in from 1–4pm. Gallery Oldham, OL1 1AL

Spooktastic Activities at Tea Cakes and Tiaras

3 Spooktastic activities to chose from. Wednesday to Friday (both weeks of half term) Terrifying T-shirt designing, Petrifying paint a pot, Creepy cup cake painting. Each child will get afternoon tea and a monstrous milkshake. £10 a child.

Saturday 27th October

The Ugly Animal Roadshow

1 -2pm and 3 -4pm

Cute don’t cut it in the animal kingdom. So we’re booting adorable out the door, and welcoming in the most monstrous, hideous, odious, fabulous creatures we could find! Explore the incredible biology of the world’s ugliest animals. Find out what adaptations make them amazing and how such hideous creatures evolved in the first place.

Monday 29th October

Bee Day

Medlock Bees invites you to come meet our beekeepers and get buzzy with our virtual hive

12-4pm at Failsworth Library Oldham Road, Failsworth, M35 0FJ

With a look inside a model hive you’ll get to see what bees do on the frames, learn about how they run the hive and how they make honey. Learn how bees live and the different jobs they do from nurse bees to undertaker bees. There’ll be wax candle rolling (£1 a go), honey tasting, and a chance to see lots of bee keeping equipment.

Model hives, Dead bees/wasps for children to compare, Swarm show, Honey tasting, Hexagon game, Bee chart, Candle rolling (£1 charge on day), crafts and more/

Halloween Arts and Crafts

Head to Chadderton Hall Park this half term for some Halloween arts and crafts with the Oldham Action Play Group.

‘Where the Wild Things Are’ Monster Modelling

Spooky Slime n Rhyme
