Family Friendly Events With The Royal Northern College Of Music

The Royal Northern College of Music is not only a place of study, the RNCM is also a vibrant live music venue! There’s lots going on during the year, including concerts and events for families.

Make sure you check out their 2020 brochure which you can download now.

We have enjoyed several Young Explorers concerts last year including Mother Goose and Hocus Pocus. The RNCM Young Explorers is a series of concerts throughout the year designed to introduce young people to the magical world of music.

Coming up For Families:

Young Explorers: Pictures at an Exhibtion

Sunday 9th February: 2pm RNCM Concert Hall. (Suitable for ages 3 and above)

In honour of his friend the artist Viktor Hartman, Modest Mussorgsky wrote a piece of music based on his art. For the latest in our Young Explorers series, we take a trip through the musical art gallery Mussorgsky called Pictures at an Exhibition. And as a special treat, during this afternoon’s performance, we also welcome back artist James Mayhew who will be illustrating episodes from these beautiful stories live on stage.

These Young Explorers concerts are a brilliant way to introduce children to live classical music. These events are family-friendly, ‘relaxed’ performances specially designed to keep kids engaged and amused. Family Ticket Offer: 4 people for £30. *select standard prices, discount will be applied at the checkout, see here to book.
