Slam Dunk Birthday Parties with Manchester Giants

I was recently asked to come and trial the Manchester Giants Slam Dunk basketball party package. It sounded like something my eldest would enjoy, who knew I would also have a great afternoon!

On the day, myself and a few other bloggers met at the George H Carnall Centre in Urmston where the Manchester Giants play. All the children in our party received a Manchester Giants t-shirt, a lovely t-shirt with #beeGIANT on the reverse. All the kids were excited to pop them on.

We were next led into the show court for an hour coaching session with some of the Giants coaches and even players. This was pretty exciting! There was 11 children in our party and they all looked like they were having lots of fun. As well as learning about basic basketball rules, they played plenty of games. Some of the players soon came to join in with the games, it was a brilliant session.

After the session, it was time for some pizza and chips (my 7-year-olds favourite meal!). Plenty of pizza, chips and juice was dished out, there was even chocolate cake for dessert!

We were soon back into the court but this time to watch the game. I have never watched a basketball game before so I had no idea what to expect. It was brilliant, the atmosphere was great. The room was full of music, cheering (although at times the Newcastle Eagles were louder), the cheerleaders were fantastic, there was even a half time game called ‘Chuck a Duck’. I loved how family friendly the entire game was, next time I will bring my three year old twins.

As part of the party package, 10 children and 2 adult would get match tickets. Party children would run out with the players for a team huddle and the birthday children would receive a signed ball. Our children ran out and my son’s friend Dan, who came along with us, won a signed ball for his efforts in the coaching session. How fantastic is that?

After the match, the players stayed on the court and happily posed for photos and signed their autographs. Each and everyone of them were great with the children. This would be an extra special moment for any Manchester Giants fan.

It was a fabulous afternoon and I was really impressed with the actual party. This would be perfect for any young basketball fans (parties are for children aged 7-10). Parties can be booked for any home game. For more information about the Slam Dunk parties including prices and how to book, see here.

I’m already planning another trip to see the Manchester Giants play. Even though they didn’t win the game I watched, I had so much fun. I’m going to bring the whole family next time.

This was a press event. I was invited along and we received gifted tickets to the game in return of an honest review. All views are honest and my own.
