I was recently asked to check out a lovely collection of children’s books ‘Not Just A Princess’ by Gavin Leonard. In return of an honest review, I was sent a set of 4 books to share with my own family, plus 4 to giveaway to one of my lucky readers. Read on to see what we thought plus details of how to win!

Not Just A Princess
The ‘Not Just A Princess’ collection are stories all about Princess Jade, she’s not your traditional princess…. she even has a robot monkey and a helicopter that she made herself!
Gavin Leonard- author and dad to Jade (the inspiration behind these books) , wrote these stories to empower children to dream big and to encourage equality. Gavin wanted to change how women and girls were represented in children’s books and that’s just what he did!
This collection consists of 3 storybooks and 1 colouring book aimed at children aged 3-8 years old. It’s a lovely collection that inspires creativity and critical thinking.
Jade’s Fan-tastic Athletic Adventure

A lovely story where Jade learns to swim with Special Olympic Champion Nora. Nora explains how as a little girl she trained hard and practised a lot to become the fantastic swimmer she was today. There’s a lovely page at the back all about the real life ‘Nora’ who dreams to win a gold medal one day in the Special Olympics. In March 2021, this book will be available as a free download for World Down Syndrome Day. This was a lovely book inspiring children to believe in themselves and that if they work hard anything is possible.
Jade and the Temple of Trouble
In this story, it starts with Jade and her monkey practising Kung Fu with her robot monkey. Seconds later she’s rushing through a secret panel in her room and down a slide to her homemade helicopter! Jade is certainly a princess with a difference! She doesn’t sit around waiting to be saved…. she’s the one who saves others!
Jades Secret Santa
This lovely book is perfect for a Christmas read. When Santa is sick who is going to come to the rescue? Why Jade and her robot monkey of course!
These stories are perfect for a bedtime story, I can read them to my younger children and my eldest likes to read them by himself. These books are inspiring for children and allows them to dream big.
The colouring book even comes with some lovely stickers which my little girl loved.

This December you can WIN your very own collection (4 books) by heading over to Instagram and entering my competition.
Good Luck!

I was gifted these books in return for an honest review.
