Review: The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan

Out and About Mummy was once again invited back to the Opera House Manchester for this years panto- The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan. A highlight to our festive season, me and Joshua were excited for the press night performance.

The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan is showing now at the Opera House Manchester until Saturday 31st December. For more information and to book tickets see here.

The Opera House was full, the atmosphere and excitement was amazing! This years panto starred comedian, Jason Manford as Captain Hook and everyone’s favourite Ben Nickless as Smee. You may know Ben from the recent Britain’s Got Talent, but fans of the Manchester panto like us, will recognise him as a familiar face to the panto.

This high-flying panto was brilliant and so much fun! We followed Wendy (Jessica Croll) return to Neverland to help Tink (Samara Casteallo) and Peter Pan (Ross Carpenter) try to save it from Captain Hook! Can they do this with the help of Smee?

Well it was laugh out loud funny throughout! Plenty of jokes for everyone, several risqué ones went over Joshua’s head but we both laughed all the way through. As like every year, Ben Nickless steals the show with his entertaining way with the audience and his hilarious impressions.

Jason Manford makes a good baddie, even getting the audience to perfect their boo’s! He impresses with a couple of musical numbers and works well as a comic duo with Ben.

Some of mine and Joshua’s favourite scenes had to be The 12 Days of Christmas, the absolutely giant crocodile as the first half closes and Ben Nickless’s impressions.

This pantomime is full of some fancy special effects, beautiful costumes and impressive sets, you won’t be disappointed. A show for the whole family to enjoy.
