The Countdown Is On….. PROM! THE MUSICAL

The countdown is on, the countdown to PROM! This summer PROM! arrives on stage in Oldham at Oldham Coliseum and will be performed by some of Oldham Theatre Workshop’s finest young performers. If you love the cheery energy of High School Musical, the magical essence of Harry Potter, and the irresistible joy of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, then you’ll love PROM! (It sounds brilliant!)

After its huge success in 2010, Oldham Theatre Workshop is reviving its teenage take on the Cinderella story. This is an energy-infused piece of musical theatre, performed by some of the most talented young actors, singers and musicians.
PROM! is an upbeat, modern rendition of a traditional fairytale, set in two schools in two parallel worlds – the magical school for Fairy Godmothers (Defixus) and the real-world school (Delawick). Both are under serious threat of closure. Students in both worlds are heading towards graduation and Prom night. And these two worlds are about to come together in an explosion of magic and music.
PROM! is suitable for everyone (recommended age 7+), tickets are on sale now and are selling fast!
Book tickets via the Oldham Coliseum box office in person or online.
Wednesday 24th July – Saturday 27th July (7.30pm)

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to ask some of the cast a couple of questions including finding out their favourite scenes and all about their high school prom. Here’s what they had to say!
Georgia Conlan
My character is Esther, from the real world. She is isolated within the family dynamic. She is very sensitive but kind.
PROM! is such a feel-good show. There’s something in it for everyone.
My favourite scene is in the finale. Billy’s (Rayden’s) voice is so beautiful and it’s a special moment when the cast come together.
Billy Barlow
My character is Rayden, the hopeless fairy godmother, from the magical world.
I am the only male fairy godmother and I have bright blue hair.
I feel so privileged to be part of such a talented company.
My favourite scene is where Esther and Rayden meet. It is super cute!
My high-school prom had stars!
Kirsty Leanne Green
My character is Madamoiselle Lapreen. She has crazy-coloured hair because she is one of the fairy godmother teachers. She is good at magicking explosions.
I haven’t faced any challenges just yet in rehearsals but maybe there will be when having to perform magic on stage!
I had a high-school prom and it was awful. I arrived in a pink limo and all I remember is arriving at the beginning, and then the end.
Lewis Green
My character is Chester, who is sarcastic, smooth and cocky.
I think everyone should come and see this show as it’s brilliant! All the cast are extremely good at what they do.
My favourite song in PROM! is She’s The One.
Robyn Leighton
My character is Wanda. She is shy and a bit of a nerd.
Rehearsals can be tiring and intense at times but by the end, when it all comes together, it makes me feel more accomplished.
My favourite song in the show is Survival Guide.
This show is for everyone. Book tickets as soon as possible before they sell out. You don’t want to miss it. It’s going to be spectacular!

Me and Joshua have kindly been invited to the opening night performance and we can’t wait! Book your tickets now and we’ll see you there.
