Alvar Carto is a website that allows you to order and create unique custom-made map posters of anywhere in the world, allowing you to hold on to those special moments and remember favourite places.
I love the idea of capturing a special place or moment with a print, I also thought they would make beautiful presents especially for people who got engaged or married whilst on holiday for example.
I was really happy when Out and About Mummy got asked to check them out and to create my own map. I had a thought of some of the places I have visited over the years and of the places that are special to my family.
I decided on the UK seaside destination of Morecambe. If you have been following me for a while now, you will know we go there a lot and that is one of our favorite places to go as a family, it holds lots of happy memories for us.
The website was extremely simple to use and they even provide free worldwide delivery! I thought this was fantastic as the maps are printed in Finland, so I expected an expensive delivery charge.
I was able to design and order my map from a tablet device which was great, as I said the website was very fast and easy to use.
After ordering my custom-made map, I received an confirmation email with estimated delivery of 3-6 days which I thought was great! It was coming from Finland and delivery was free.
I ordered my print at 9pm last Thursday and received it yesterday (Tuesday) via DHL Express. I received plenty of emails tracking my order also including on delivery day, such a fab service!
The map came rolled up and was protected inside a case with tissue paper.
The print itself is of excellent quality, the paper it’s printed on is nice and thick with a matte finish. There are different sizes available and you can opt for landscape or portrait. We loved our print as soon as we opened it! I loved the colour, I chose the copper effect as I think it will look fab in a black frame. The kids loved pointing to the map with me as we talked about our favorite places we like to visit.
