The ULTIMATE Half Term Guide For Oldham and Tameside

With the February half term just around the corner, I have searched high and low for everything that’s going on during the half-term in and around Oldham and Tameside! I’ve also added a few events a little further out but still in Greater Manchester, mainly because they sound great!

Enchanted Fairyland Adventure at Cockfields Farm

This February half term head down to the farm for their amazing fairyland adventure between 15th – 23d Feb. There’s is plenty to do including

  • Make your own wand in Wanda’s Wand factory,
  • Plant your own magic beans in Jacks Bean House,
  • Meet Flora Butterfly in her fabulous fairy show,
  • Meet Buttercup the unicorn,
  • Explore the Fairyland village and see where the fairies live,
  • Get your face glitter in the beauty salon,
  • Cuddle time with the guinea pigs and bunnies and much more!

MONDAY 17TH FEB

Oi! Frog! Story Walk

Join Oldham Library for a fantastically story walk at Foxdenton Park. Enjoy the ‘Oi Frog’ themed trail around the park and make your very own frog! This walk may not be suitable for pushchairs. Suitable footwear is required, ages 3+. Meet outside Foxdenton Hall at 10.30am. This is a free session but booking is essential, tickets available from Monday 10th Feb.

Magic Monday Family Crafts

Magic Monday family crafts session will take place in the community gallery 1-3pm. Tickets are £3 and places are limited so advanced booking is essential. There will be free colouring sheets for the under 4’s and refreshments available to purchase. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bedtime Stories with Susanna Oldfield

Join storyteller Susanna Oldfield at Failsworth Library (5.45-6.45pm) for her lovely bedtime stories session. These free sessions are lots of fun and a great way to develop a relaxing bedtime routine, we love them! Remember to bring your favourite teddy! A light snack for the chidlren will be served after the event.

Roaring T-Rex at Reddish Vale Farm

This half term a roaring t-Rex and a baby dino will be making appearances at Reddish Vale Farm. This is a full days worth of entertainment planned including fossil and dinosaur props, a dinosaur photo selfie board and small kids dino ride-ons. See their website for more details.

Little Imaginations is a theatrical session for all ages! Head to the Little Owl Farm and join in with the interactive adventure full of mayhem, make believe and fun! Sessions 11am, 1pm and 2pm.

Watch Out for Muddy Puddles! – Canal Story Walk

Join Failsworth Library for a wet and muddy story walk along Rochdale canal and up to Newton Heath Dog Club. Enjoy a reading of ‘Watch Out for Muddy Puddles’ and a trail. Meet at Failsworth Libary at 1.30pm. This walk may not be suitable for pushchairs. Suitable footwear is required, ages 3+. Totally Wild Experience and Pottery Craft

Is your child brave enough to get up, close and personal to tarantulas, millipedes or even a snake? If so then this event if for them! Spend some time handling the creatures and find out all about them before having the chance to decorate there very own mess-free clay. Snack and juice included.

Paint-a-pottery, Foam Clay and Keepsakes
