It can be tough to find things to do when the school’s break up if your a mum of a young baby or toddler. Especially if you don’t have older children. Most baby and toddler classes stop September and everywhere is full of older children.
I have looked high and low to find classes and activities for the youngest children. Remember to check the ULTIMATE what’s on guide, as babys and toddlers are welcome to most things too!
Bumps and Babies
The free Bumps and Babies session with Oldham Library still run during all school holidays which is great for anyone with young children where you can enjoy songs, stories, rhymes and sensory play recommended for bumps and babies up to 18 months. No need to book, just turn up! These sessions run all over Oldham in the libraries, check out the days and times here.
Giggle Bellys in Royton still run their sessions over the summer holidays. I have been to a few of the sessions there including messy play, baby gym and baby sensory, all which were fab! The lovely Lisa was kind enough to send me the new class timetable, see below. All activities need booking in advance, check them out on Facebook.

The parent and baby morning at Molino Lounge runs each Wednesday 10am -12pm even throughout the holidays. Stacey runs the morning, it’s a lovely laid back session that is great for all ages. There’s plenty of baby toys and play mats but also toys and coloring books for older ones.
Tiddlers Baby Group
Tiddlers Baby Group at Uppermill Methodist Church is £2.50 a family. 10am – 11.30am Mondays including school holidays.
Jellytots Playgroup
Jelly Tots Greenfield at Boarshurst Band Club is a friendly playgroup that also runs during the school holidays. £3.50 for up to 3 children which includes toast, hot drinks and snacks.
Hartbeeps Saddleworth and Tameside
Hartbeeps offer multi-sensory music classes for babies and toddlers. They are still running there classes through the first half of the summer holidays, plus will be running some special sessions over the summer. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
Babease Massage offer a range of baby and antenatal classes in Tameside, from baby massage and yoga. I attended baby massage at Babease with my twins, we had a lovely time, Claire who runs it is extremely friendly. Check out their Facebook page for more information on their classes.
Toddlersense Tameside will be running until mid August, the sessions offer toddlers a whole new world of adventure! We paid Toddlersense a visit earlier in the year, have a look at our review! You can find out more information on their classes via their Facebook page.
Playtime Baby at the Whitworth is on everyday during the summer holidays between 23rd July – 31st August 11am-3pm. A sensory play area in the beautiful setting in the gallery for non walking babies and their parents or carers.
Tots Play Oldham will also be running until mid August and there is still a few remaining spaces in Greenfield and Royton. The summer sessions sound so much fun- Teddy Bears Picninc, a Summer Festival and Messy Food Play! Find out more here.
Infiinty Dance school in Oldham have set up a 3 week summer pop up class for babies, toddlers and preschoolers ages 0-4 years old. Music tots comes to Infinity, every Thursday (starting Thursday 2nd August) 10.30-11.15am. Booking required, more information on their Facebook Page.
