FREE Half Term Activities and Events In and Around Oldham and Tameside

Half term already I hear your cry? It doesn’t seem like two minutes ago the kids were last off school.

There’s loads going on this February half term to keep the kids entertained in and around Oldham, Tameside and Greater Manchester. Best of all, this list below is all FREE actvities!

Active Treasure Trail and Elmer Crafts.

‘We have hidden some of our favourite active book characters around the library. Can you find them all?’
Get moving and have a go at copying their fun actions. You can also get crafty and create your own Elmer the Elephant! Pop into any of the Oldham libraries anytime this half term to take part. Free, drop in.

Space Modelling

Space Modelling, Create spacecrafts in a lunar landscape. No need to book, just come along on the day. Use your imagination to build, play and explore space with Oldham Play Action Group.

Saturday 16th Feb – 11am – 2pm at Denton Library, M34 2AP.

Holiday Fun At Gallery Oldham

Free family activities take place during all school holidays. Activities run from 1 – 4pm each day. Face painting and craft activities at each session.

Most suitable for ages 4–10 years.

Children must be accompanied by an adult for all family activities.

All holiday activities are FREE (face painting is additional for just £2). No need to book, just drop-in from 1–4pm

The Boy In The Dress – Story and Craft Session

Dennis is an ordinary boy but he feels different. He creates a whole new persona and puts it to the ultimate test – can a boy wear a dress?
Have a go at designing a new football kit for Dennis’ football team or a fabulous new frock!

Free activities for families including sports and circus skills with Fullcircle NW. Everyone is welcome, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Hands On Science

Constellations Space Workshop for children aged 8+. In this workshop, investigate and indentify constellations. Children get to make their own star finder to take home too.

Supertato! Half-Term Story and Craft Session

Oh my goodness, whatever can we do? There’s an evil pea on the loose! Try to calm your frayed nerves because, never fear, Supertato is here to save the day!
Come along to hear a Supertato story and make your very own Supertato.
Ages 5+. Free, no booking required.

Boxing Taster Sessions

Get active with 0161 Community. Join in these fre boxing sessions, there’s no need to book! All ages are welcome to these fun and free family sessions.

Meet Tommy Atkins: First World War Soldier

Have you ever wondered what a soldier wore, what he ate, how he lived, fought and died in the ‘Great War for Civilisation’?

Wednesday 20th Feb – 11am -3pm at Portland Basin, Ashton – Under – Lyne.

JellyTots Greenfield

Mums and Tots group that stays open during the school holidays. Unlimited breakfast buffet and selection of hot drinks. There’s a baby area, an area for ride on cars, huge carpeted area for soft play plus a large selection of toy. Each session is finished with songs and stories.

£3.50 for up to 3 children, 50p any extra children.
