More Bees! Daddy’s Day Out, A Trip To DidsBEE and One Wet Sunday Afternoon

You may have read my recent posts about the giant Bee sculptures that are buzzing around Manchester over the summer? Well over the past few weekends, we have also been buzzing here, there and everywhere to find them………..

Daddy’s Day Out.

A couple of weekends ago whilst I was at Friends Fest, Daddy took the three kids out for the day and he decided to go on a bee hunt. Without me. To tell you the truth I was a little gutted, I’m loving finding the bees haha! They had a fantastic day.

They started at Heaton Park, I met up with my friends and they headed off to find the bees and there was plenty to find in the park and cafes there.

Once they left the park, they headed into town to do a little more hunting and they found plenty! We had previously found the one outside the Cathedral but this time they ventured inside. They found at least 10 inside!

After they left the Cathedral they headed towards Salford Central train station and The People’s Museum. They found this stunning pink fella close to the train station.

This fantastic little bee called BEE M A D (Mad about Denton) is one our my favourites, it looks fab. They found this Little Bee inside The People’s Museum.

They then did a loop around Spinningfields and found several more Bees.

I love this one!

Trip To DidsBEE.

Last weekend we were in Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens in Didsbury to see The Railway Children, an outdoor performance. After the show had finished, we headed back to the car where Joshua reminded us that there was a Bee or two in Didsbury. So we left the park and headed into the centre, following the map to Didsbee Library. We found 1 Bee outside and 1 Little Bee inside.

One Wet Sunday Afternoon.

After a morning at the local soft play centre with friends, we decided to put on our wellies and head out last Sunday. We parked up in Manchester city centre and headed to Victoria train station to continue our Bee hunt.

We next found this Little Bee at the National Football Museum. Staff there told us there were several more throughout the museum, so we will be heading there for a day out soon.

Next we walked past the Print Works and towards Shudehill, through the Northern Quarter and stopping in Piccadilly gardens, we managed to spot these 9 Bees!

From Piccadilly Gardens, we headed down Oxford Road to the Art Gallery (check out the gorgeous sparkly one in the middle) and towards St Peter’s Square at Central Library. We will be back again soon to check out the ones inside the library. We found another 9 Bees.

We can’t wait to get out again and search for the remaining Bees…….

  2. Love trails like this but unfortunately never seem to have any around here, joys of living in the countryside in Wales. We were in Manchester at the beginning of August but it was a flying visit, excuse the pun, wish I had known about these if they were there then as I would have loved to see a few of these amazing bees in person. Love how different they all are.
